What we do
With our vision of an West Africa Capable of Achieving Its Own Development we at the West African Agency for International Development (WAAID) work to build strategic partnerships, extend grants, offer technical support and provide access to relevant knowledge related to capacity building in West Africa. Our current 5-year Strategic Plan aims to promote the emergence of Skilled People and Strong Institutions to Transform West Africa through delivering on our 2025-2030 Strategy based on four pillars: (i) Enabling effective delivery of regional development priorities; (ii) Supporting countries to achieve tangible development results; (c) Enhancing non-state actors, private sector and civil society to contribute to sustainable development; and (4) Leveraging knowledge and learning to increase development effectiveness.
How we do it
To achieve our goal of enabling individuals and institutions to ultimately improve the lives of West Africans, we actively build strategic partnerships, extend grants to think tanks across the region, offer technical support on capacity development to Governments, the private sector and civil society; and provide stakeholders with access to relevant knowledge related to capacity building and sustainable development in West Africa.
Our five service lines to deliver impact on our strategic pillars are:
